Visit Mullhead...an area of over 200 acres of coastal grassland, heath, and sea cliff
providing opportunity for walking and bird watching. This is one of the few locations
in Orkney where you can see most of the Northern isles on a clear day.
Explore Covenantors...
a slender monument erected in 1888 marking where about 200 Covenantors, made prisoner
at the Battle of Boswell Bridge, where ship wrecked in 1679. This can be walked comfortably
in a evenings walk from the Bed and Breakfast .
The isle of Copinsay is a wedge shaped
island with a lighthouse perched on 300ft high vertical cliffs facing the North sea...this
island is the nesting sites of some 10,000 pairs of Gullimots and Kittwakes...copinsay
can be reached by boat...details can be found at the tourist office.
